That's me tethered to a boom lift 125 feet above the floor, inside the Pittsburgh Convention Center, taking measurements to replace massive fabric membranes that line its massive interior. Who you don't see is Jared, operating the lift and showing me the details. For years, I've had the privilege of working alongside Jared Grodnitzky, Owner of Crown Shade Company, in this weird niche industry that has taken me to new heights. Jared is this industries most talented engineer and I owe this venture and journey into the sexiness of Roller Shades entirely to Jared...well 90% Jared and 10% my wife, Dana.
Maryland Shade is a master dealer of Crown Shade Company products which are manufactured here in Baltimore, Maryland and distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada. My goal is to help spread the word on what's possible and design & install these unique systems in my local market.

In-Home Consultation
We visit your space, assess each opening, discuss fabric options, and answer every question before you commit to anything and make proper recommendations.

Hand Measurement
Every opening is measured by hand with calibrated tools. We document mounting conditions, obstructions, and reveal depths.

Custom Fabrication
Shades are fabricated to exact specifications, to a 1/16th of an inch— no standard sizing.

Professional Installation
We install, level, and test every shade. You receive a full walkthrough and we don't leave until everything operates correctly.
